V. Raman. No anonymous verdicts. ### The maths is not a guess Positions come from Swiss Ephemeris with the Lahiri ayanāṁśa. Everything you need to understand your own horoscope. ## FAQ ### Is this sidereal or tropical? Sidereal, with the Lahiri (Chitrapakṣa) ayanāṁśa — the standard for Jyotiṣa. Positions come from Swiss Ephemeris. ### Do I need my exact birth time? The closer the better. The ascendant moves about one degree every four minutes and changes sign roughly every two hours, so an hour's error can move every house. ### Where do the interpretations come from? 371 encoded rules drawn from the classical texts, plus the engine's own reconciliation where the texts are silent. Every reading names its source, and rules the engine derived are labelled as derived. ### Is my birth data sent anywhere? Your birth details are stored on your device. They are sent to the server to be computed and are not retained — the only thing kept is a one-way hash used to count how many charts you have cast. ### Is there a free tier? Yes — and at the moment everything in the app is free. Paid tiers exist but nothing is gated behind them yet. ### Does it predict the future? No. It reads a chart against a tradition and says what that tradition holds. It is offered for reflection and study, not as advice — and never as medical, legal or financial advice. ## Privacy ### What we collect **Your email address**, if you sign in. It is used to send a one-time code and to attach your subscription to you. Nothing else. **A device identifier**, generated on your phone. It lets us count usage per device rather than per IP address, so people sharing a network are not treated as one person. **Payment records**, if you subscribe. Card details are handled by the payment provider and never reach our servers. ### What we do not keep **Your birth details stay on your device.** Date, time and place are stored in the app's own storage. They are sent to the server so a chart can be computed and are not written to any database. The only trace kept is a one-way hash of the chart, used to count how many distinct charts an account has cast. **Palm photographs are never stored.** A palm scan is decoded in memory, measured, and discarded within the request. ### Who else sees it The payment provider, for payments. The email provider, to deliver your sign-in code. Nobody else — your data is not sold, rented, or used to train anything. If the operator has configured an AI connector, the *findings* of a reading — placements and the classical rules they matched — may be sent to that provider to be condensed into a sentence. Your name, email and birth details are not included. ### Deleting your account In the app: Settings → Account → Delete account. It removes your user record, your sessions and your subscription history immediately. You can also email support@astropedic.app and we will do it for you within 30 days. ### Children Astropedic is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data. ## Terms of use ### What you are getting A licence to use Astropedic on devices you own, for personal, non-commercial use. The app, its knowledge base and its engine remain ours. ### What it is not Astropedic is offered for personal reflection and the study of Jyotiṣa. It is not medical, legal, financial or psychological advice, and no reading it produces should be used in place of a qualified professional. Readings are interpretations of a traditional system. They describe tendencies that tradition associates with a chart. They are not statements of fact about your future and must not be relied on for any decision with real consequences. ### Subscriptions Paid tiers renew automatically until cancelled. Manage or cancel in your App Store account settings; cancelling stops the next renewal and leaves the current period running. Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple under their policy, not by us. ### Acceptable use Do not resell readings, scrape the API without a key, or redistribute the knowledge base. API access is available — see the developer docs. ### Liability The app is provided as is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss arising from its use. ## Support ### Getting help Email **support@astropedic.app**. Include your device model, the iOS version and what you were doing — a screenshot helps more than a description. We answer within two working days. ### Common things **My chart looks wrong.** Check the birth time first: it is the input that moves everything, and an AM/PM slip moves the ascendant by six signs. **The place I was born is not listed.** Type a larger nearby town — the coordinates only need to be right to a few kilometres for the chart, though the time zone must be right. **I paid and the features are still locked.** Force-quit and reopen; the app re-reads your subscription on launch. If it persists, email us with the purchase receipt. ### Deleting your account Settings → Account → Delete account, in the app. Or email us and we will do it within 30 days.
